Finding, Preparing, and Enjoying Local Food!
By Maureen Clement, MD and Kathryn Hettler, BEd
A physician and an organic grower together created this resource book about health and local food!
In addition to 150 simple, delicious recipes and serving suggestions provided by local growers, this book includes tips for good health and a guide to the farms and farmers' markets in the North Okanagan /Shuswap region of British Columbia where you can purchase fabulous fresh produce, grains, dairy, and meats.
Principal photographer was Kathryn Zietsma, who worked at Pilgrims' Produce and is returning this year. You'll love her beautiful photos!
Excellent research and technical assistance was given by Joan Burton, Kathryn Hettler's sister, who worked tirelessly to ensure we have a quality product from the title page to the Index.
The books are available at the following locations:
Armstrong area: Pilgrims' Produce, the Haugen Medical Clinic, Fieldstone Granary, De Mille's and at the Armstrong Farmers' Market, in season, Saturdays.
